Idiots.

Broke my glasses yesterday. Bit of a bugger really although now I do look stylish with them only having one leg.

Also since last time I tried to log on to check my flight details on the BA website, and lo and behold my customer number was no longer active. Dropped an email to the department who were entirely useless and said the system might be 'confused ' which is comforting for an academic institution. Logged on using Nicks info and sure enough my name had been removed from his booking details too. Queue much grumbling and emails to the travel agency and BA - India. Turns out my flight booking details had been changed but the bright sparks at travel leads had failed to tell anyone. Gits,

In other news I spent a lot of yesterday being followed around Mysore market by several men with Indian flutes trying to sell me them by playing "My Heart Will Go On" the hit Celine Dion classic from Titanic. This and an instrument that sounds like a dying cat. Surprisingly it didn't endear me towards a sale.

Had our obligatory colonial meal last night to see off some of the biology girls. Went the the Royal Orchid Metropole hotel which had stuffed tigers on the wall and played classical music while you ate. Ended my self inflicted vegetarianism by eating a leg of lamb with Nick. It was good.

My last 4 weeks in sentences

Since it has been about 4 weeks I've managed to forget pretty much everything I have done but there are a few moments which stick in the memory.

Nick emptying a glass of mango into his face
Being accepted as an honorary indian and given indian prices while everyone else got tourist prices
Deciding to take a shortcut over a fence home and discovering a man having a poo just behind
Nick flipping his omlette on the floor and then throwing it at Kate
Discovering the indian national sport is actually overtaking on blind corners and not cricket, as we had been lead to believe.
Being invited to stay in luxury resorts across india if I can find a PhD to do here
Nick throwing oopma on himself
Kate being involved in a brawl where the accountant went in to his car and came out with a wrench and chain
Getting charged by an elephant several times
Having a leopard in our garden
Nick being offered the chance to replace an old man's god if he supplied an electric fence
Being bitten by something, probably the spider in my bed and my ankle going purple and a bit manky
Playing table tennis with a lawyer for about 3 hours

I'm sure there's plenty more....

I'm sorry I've been missing

It's not been quite the flood of information I wanted to relay back to my gracious fans back into the UK, but circumstances (i.e. no internet connection) has dictated my actions. I do, however, think this photo sums up my past three weeks. Enjoy.
